It's almost time for me to go home. I took an extra long break because of all the stress of the semester. One person asked how my semester went and I told her it was really hard and she took it as I did shitty. I was really offended. I just really don't think people appreciate how hard my course is. For one single class we learnt every major class of viruses and we had to know composition like is it enveloped, is it single or double stranded, what are it's accessory proteins, several examples of it, replication cycles....it was a fucking lot of information. And almost none of it can be "reasoned out," you just have to know it.
This term will be better. I have two "easier" classes and an old friend in one class. I will enjoy spending more time with him. I didn't bother making resolutions. They never work out. It will be a busy semester though. I'm really going to have to work my ass off. As soon as I get home I have to fix my floor...ya my apartment got a little flooded because of a fire riiight before I left so contractors ripped my entry way out the day before I left. I don't even know where to start there. And I'm going to get another foster cat. I'm so torn up that they put my foster cat Lazuli down. The SPCA fucked up and miss-filed her papers with anothr cat. Basically she had the cold for two days and they put her down. I even had my friends try to rush over and get her :( And as much as I'd lie to punish somone for this I can't. The fact is it's run by kids and volunteers. They don't even file their stuff on computers. It's all paper. So I decided I'd foster a sick cat instead of kittens so that what happened to Lazzy won't happen again.
I had a good break except for finding out about Lazzy. I didn't really see people, but I fin people tend to dissappoint. The key to me being so happy was that I really went in expecting very very little. It worked out. It's been a good year too. I moved in with my boyfriend, I helped with my sister's wedding, found out I'll be an auntie in March...well a fake auntie but I might as well be related. My friends in Montreal have really been amazing too. This year I get to look forward to a trip to Quebec City and New York, more time with my fabulous french friends, an old people themed party, helping Andrew with his biology minor, finding new recipes...
All in all it will be a good year I think. I'll always remember my Lazzy though.
