First of all, for anyone who likes Stephen Colbert,
http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/13498647.html#cutid1 This is too funny.
If you don't like Stephen Colbert, you are not a very cool person. That's all there is to it.
Anyway, carrying on I have the traveling nerves. I hate traveling. I love going wherever I'm going, I just hate the bus/plane/car rides. They make me nervous for a reason I can never quite put my finger on. My stomach feels all queasy like right before you wright a test that you know you didn't study for at all and are unprepared for. I miss my kitties when I'm gone and I hate feeling like I'm forgeting something. You'd think I get over this since I fly home and back twice a year but no, I don't.
Maybe it's the book I'm reading. I get way too involved in the books I read. It's about a game show in the not so distant future (like 5 years from now?). The book is called The Big Question and it's about a gane show of the same name where you face off on several rounds of questions. Once you're the last man standing you have to answer one last question. If you get it right you get $100 million dollars but if you get it wrong, you are immediately executed. Anyway I'm at this part where you know all about the contestants and why they're so desperate that they'd be willing to risk death for the money and it makes me nervous. Just like I get in bad moods when the people in books get shit all over. Or happy when the people fall in love and things work out in the end. I'm such a baby.
So lastly, I know I read the paper since my dad's in it a lot but the thing about St Martha School makes me angry. Background: My dad's been getting tons of e-mails about how the traffic is too fast and parents feel they need traffic lights or more crosswalks of just something. I mean a parent got hit by a car (not hard) last year! Mainly that part of town is really under heavy development and the traffic will just get worse just like it is everywhere else in the city. The principal used to work at Father Turcott which is on Franklin and he said th traffic there wasn't as bad. Ok so carrying on, my dad asked council that something be done such as rumble strips, more cross walks, lights....and as usual the end compromise was "Let's have a study done." There is never any action! All it is is comittees to make comittees to make study group to look into the issue. It makes me angry. Also it reminds me so much of Head of State with Chris Rock? The presidential debate in it? That's what council sounds like to me a lot of the time. It bugs me too that by the time the studies get done and any action takes place, there's a good chance that the study is outdated. I mean this city is growing at a phenomenal rate.
Ok tha's it. I have to get back to packing and reading and feeling queasy.
