Hmm. Well, I've noticed there's not much activity on this community, but I thought I'd post this anyway.

I found this picture for the anime Saikano...

In a way you could see the plot as being similar, but that's only if you consider them both techonology.

During an air raid, the main male character is seperated from his friends. He's on his own and trying to find cover when he sees a pink dot in the sky. He runs towards it only to be shocked at finding his girlfriend (they begin dating in the same episode) standing there, her clothes torn and burnt, giant metal wings coming out of her back along with, on occasion, extremely large guns.

She confides in him that she is the ultimate weapon, and not by choice. They took her in the middle of the night and all that. She's the weapon that will protect their little town (not the town that was raided) and will help Japan win the war.

So, you could see that both of them not really being human and finding their humanity as a similarity. Both find it through love, too.

Hmm. Maybe that's why I liked the series so much!

Anyway, it's just general similarities. Nothing else in the storyline (that I've caught so far) is similar. It's definately worth watching.

Cool. I'll check out the manga at Borders (I love the people there. They just let me read as much manga as I want, so long as I'm not in anybody's way) and maybe rent the anime if I ever get some cash.
