I'm going to read this book at the next week and it will be very pleasant to me to give you any help I can. But I'm afraid that this book really has nothing to do with Lain. Pelevin is an extravagant writer, his favourite subjects are much more related to Zen and psychology than to the Net things.
I don't know anything about translations to other languages than Russian, so, may be, you have to learn Russian to read this book. But I'm afraid that you have to be russian to understand it right. This one I didn't read yet but it's true to almost all other books of Pelevin.
I've read this book and i say you that it has nothing to do with Lain! Absolutely! The designers of the book just stoled this picture and leaved no Abe copyrights! If any of you guys can read russian, read the topic about this here: http://forum.lain.ru/index.php?act=ST&f=5&t=136
Yeah, that's pity. Such a good writer and such a bad designers :( IMHO, it's usual in book publishing: you know, all these fantasy books with scareful "heroic" faces on the covers...
