A red and green sweater.
I was wondering, what does the red and green sweater have anything to do with aliens? Does it represent the alien containing humanistic characteristics? Do the colors red and green specifically represent anything? And why is it an alien? Why couldn't it be a donkey or something?
First off, the colors red and green remind me of Christmas. I cannot connect Christmas to the theme of Lain. Well, maybe. Let's see. According to Lain, everyone is always connected. It is a joy to be connected with another person. At Christmas, friends and family are brought together under one house to celebrate. It brings people once-separated together. If I wanted to be specific, I'd say Christmas is Jesus Christ's birthday. You guys try to figure out what that has to do with Lain.
Why is it a sweater? Can't it be a shirt or pants...or a hat? All I know is that a sweater keeps you warm when the weather is cold. Hmm. If the red and green represents Christmas (connectivity) and the alien is wearing it (to keep him warm), what does that mean? Being connected keeps him warm? Maybe.
But then again I'm not really a philosophical person, even though I try. This community needs to wake up sometime.
