When I spent too much before Xmas time because of all the toy shop madness I justify it claiming that those are the gifts for my dolls because they deserve some presents too :)
This year they got quite a lot - 3 different sets of furniture for their non-existing dollhouse :) I bought the sets in November, took the pictures and never posted them here... There are quite a lot of pictures so I decided to divide them into 3 posts: first the sitting-room furniture, then the bathroom and finally the kitchen, which is my favorite room.
All the sets were made by Goldlok - it's a Chinese company that makes quite a lot of doll furniture, I see them quite often. Usually their furniture is pink with a little bit of purple and it's too small for 11.5" dolls. I own one bedroom by Goldlock, the bed is too short for regular Barbies but I bought it for my Skipper dolls hoping to repaint it (which will never happen...)
Goldlok has
a website which hasn't been updated for a very long time so unfortunately you can't find anything there (and it's very slow).
This line of doll furniture is called Modern Comfort and it's absolutely perfect. Not a trace of pink, the furniture is just the right scale, everything can be opened - I simply love it ♥ I love the colors and the design, it really looks like "human" furniture scaled down to fit the 1:6 dolls. And the most surprising thing is that these sets were so much cheaper than other pink & plastic sets by Goldlok O.O e.g. a pink and ugly kitchen (too short for dolls) was €25 and the Modern Comfort Kitchen was €12. A shocking difference in quality and price.
I could write more about the hunting for the sets, how hard it was to bring them home (they're heavy ;)) and other useless stuff but let's move on to the most interesting part - the pictures.
The model in the pictures is Modern Circle Barbie wearing handmade outfit by my friend Eric. It's one of the very few formal outfits that my dolls have, I love the color and how it fits them so I'm glad I finally took the pictures to show it to you. Barbie loves it :) Shoes are Fashion Fever.
The orange lamp can be lit up but you have to keep the button pushed which is not very practical ;) When you push the button on the TV set the picture moves and lights up too.
I still have all the tiny accessories in their original packaging (these pieces of plastic) because I don't want to lose them, I need to find a place for them first; CDs that are in the stereo can be taken out. The cushions on the sofa are soft and made of fabric so you can sew the new ones to change the colors and redecorate the room anytime you want :) In case of unexpected guests that have to stay overnight the sofa is long enough to sleep on :)
