WARNING
The following post contains pictures of exceptionally ugly dolls. Seriously.
At first I even wanted to put black stripes over their faces because the poor things are simply really ugly - but we can't avoid reality or we would drop dead one day while doll shopping ;)
I posted about some clone dolls sold around Xmas every year
previously. Last year we had another "Biedronka exclusive" dolls :D Unfortunately this time the dolls looked nothing like the My Scene clones from previous years. This time they tried to imitate Fashion Fever dolls but apparently someone forgot that FF dolls don't have potato-sized heads >.< But... the dolls were sold in tubes with a doll stand and an extra outfit, the outfits were copies of Fashion Fever and My Scene clothes and they were $3 again. How could I resist? ;)
This is a page from Biedronka catalog that has some of the dolls. (Biedronka (ladybird) is a chain of cheap grocery stores that sell some random stuff)
I couldn't find any better picture of the boxes, this one's borrowed from an auction. As you can see even the font used on the box is supposed to look like FF - but this time it's "Fashion Doll". Another name of the dolls is "Glitter Doll". The tube are higher and wider that those by Mattel.
And here are my three girls:
She's wearing a copy of
Fashion Fever Wave A Kayla's outfit which I also have. I really like the striped pants.
I think this outfit is not a copy but I may be wrong. I bought it cos I think it's really cute.
EDIT: Thanks to
corpselights the outfit was indentified as
Fashion Fever Benetton New York. Thanks :)
The bodies of the clones are a mix of TNT & BB bodies so you have to mix and match the clothes. Unfortunately their feet are very small and you can't squeeze any other dolls into the shoes - that was the biggest disappointment :(
This doll is wearing a copy of
My Scene Wave 1 Chelsea's outfit. There was also a doll wearing a copy of MS Wave 3 Madison's outfit but I didn't want to spend any more money.
The dolls are ugly but they've got nice hair so they could be cut and used for rerooting. The beheaded bodies could be used for mannequins but the frightening cracking noises when trying to remove their heads scare me away - they must have some complicated neck knobs, not the usual "one second to remove head" ones. So the dolls are lying somewhere and I don't know what to do with them. (I don't know any kids to give the dolls to, besides would any kid want these dolls?)
But I got 3 very good doll stands and all these clothes for $9. Could be worse ;)
The End
