Home home home in the noobs. Hanging out with my family and smiling. Thnxsgiving (as I have written it in planners and on pieces of paper) is so much more fun now that all the assorted cousins are around the age where it is appropriate to drink alcohol. We played beirut and it was just a grand old time. I had two beers, a cape codder, and apple wine. it was a fucking party.
And I sent in a letter to Savage Love. We'll see if he deems my problem crazy enough to answer. That would be both thrilling and enlightening. Kind of like asking a God of sorts. Huh. We'll see.
I also emailed the woman from the rare books room at Smith asking about an internship this winter. And am going to California with my family! 23rd-28th or something. yaaay. Grandma and Amoeba records. And I guess we are going to Big Sur and Cannery Row and Monterey...I just found out all of this today. I love free travel.
Who wants to go to Mexico? No, really. This winter. To see the 'Mayan stuff' and the Frida Kahlo museum and whatever else there is to see (I need to do some more research first, yes). And not get mugged/raped/sold into sex slavery. We will: take pictures, draw, drink beer, talk about anarchism, talk about feminism, talk about drugs, talk about communism, smile, laugh, get hit on, feel offended (and subsequently) feel enlightened. And buy things. And have a good time!
Please, someone, come with me. I want to go but can't go alone. Or if you know anyone who is going to be there, tell me who they are and I will try and tag along with them. I really just need a safety buddy, we don't need to be friends. I am friendly and a seasoned traveler. Does nnot whine too much and can fall asleep anywhere. Must be back in Mass. by the end of January, or have a steady cash flow and a direct line to the UMass deferment office.
Basically, I am so happy!
(And I just finished reading The Awakening...FUCK.FUCK. What a good, crazy, sad, amazing book. Quick read, big thoughts)
