back to the 'ol grind
Started classes today! They seem to be alright so far...nothing like the days where all you do is go and listen to teachers talk about syllabi. My room is sooo cute! I'm in Prince George's hall (on south campus) in suite 3103(c) so all you all better gets on down here to visit! We have a big 'ol living room for dance parties and the such!
I really lucked out with my roomate...she's a freshman named Aggie...who actually switched with the girl i was SUPPOSED to room with. ANd frankly, i totally got the better end of the deal! Although the girl is barely here! She's always out doin something..which is great for her..but like...um, dont you have class? Haha....she's awesome. I hope i dont seem like an old fogie or anything.
Oh! this is the story of the week: I went to the CLarence perfoming arts center which we'll now call the PAC the other day to find a classroom...and somehow, i got complete and uterally lost. I was wandering around in the basement of this place for 40 minutes and decided jus to read the flyers on the wall. One I read was about the Maryland Chorus groups and when they were having auditions for admittance. ANd i was like, oh, that's neat..i wish i had the time/could do that. I have nothing prepared or anything and i had to audition?? um, yeah right. well i looked at my phone and it was 3:45 and auditions happened to be that day and ended at 4pm. So i just mosied along and tried to find a way out. I found some stairs and after more wandering came upon the room which they were holding auditions! And i was like oh...ok, weird. I saw the papers that you had to fill out and everything. I was about to turn around when a guy came out the door and was like "who are you?" and i was shocked and was like.."uhh...jennn" and he asked me if I had an appointment for a tryout...and i said "frankly, i got lost, and somehow ended up here...but i knew this was going on!" then he said, well, "why dont you fill out a paper and come on in anyway, you;ll be our last audition. and i was like.."but i have nothing prepared!" and he said "that;s ok, we'll think of something. haha! So, i went in...met the 3 men in there, sang "my country tis of thee" then sight read (all in soprano key) and then i was like..."ok, well thank you!" Then the director (who knows margy!) said...ok, well the university chorale starts nect tuesday...so be there, and Do you have class from 12-1250 on MWF?" ANd i was like like.."what???" well he offered me a spot in the universoty women;s choir as well! Which i can't do because of a class :((((( BUT! i'm on the list for the spring and i dont have to re-audition! WHA! So i'm in the university chorus and all because i got lost in a confusing building :)
anyways...it's f-ing freezing in my room...i'm gonna take a hot shower! NIGHT!
