So I found out today that mortgage companies are re-verifying employment 3 days before closing. This means we need to go ahead and tell them now about Lance's job change. He's scheduled to start the week after we close, but HR could easily mention is resignation.
I feel better about it this way anyway. Even if the rules are open to interpretation, this is the honest thing to do and I don't like feeling like I'm being sneaky, . I think we still have a good chance of being approved, but his change in salary could give them second thoughts.
Lance and I are both OK with whatever happens. There is a lot we could do with this place if the other house fell through. Right now, I'm waiting for the mortgage guy to call me back so I can tell him what's up. I have no idea how the bank will react.
It's the waiting that drives me crazy.
