I could have been at a bar-be-que.

Ok. So. I thought the ending of my summer would be uneventful. And I wish I had been right.

So after the team party today Kate and I went home in one car and dad in the other. About the same time as I got home probably there was a guy who was visiting his family across the street, like his mother and brothers and sister. Well, he had brought a couple of friends home and he was drunk and he got into a fight with his mother and like threatened to beat her up and stuff I think. So the brother who actually lives across the street called the cops and the drunk guy took off, like he just started walking down the street. Around this time my dad started to come home from fishing. This drunk guy met up with the police on the road that is the road we walk on to get to the playground right before we cut across the field. That's where the police caught up with him and they stopped him and made sort of a barricade on the road. Well it just so happened that this was the road on which my dad was coming home and so he couldn't get through and just was idling there. Then he saw this guy get into a fight with two of the cops; one of them was female and this drunk guy picked her up off the ground and threw her into that huge ditch and the other guy he just like knocked down. He saw all this. So he got out of his car, naturally, to help and he started walking toward what happened and then he realized that the guy was walking toward him. So he turned around and went back to his car but the guy stopped him sorta and asked him for a ride. Dad was like "No you can't have a ride" and they had gotten back to the car at this point and the guy like shoved my dad to get at the door, but my dad didn't move a lot. So he drew back to punch dad and when he did, my dad just like told him he wasn't gonna punch him and the guy just didn't hit him. Then the guy like pushed my dad again and got in the car my dad like tried to sorta punch him but it was kinda like too little too late. The guy got in the car and drove off. Meanwhile more police are getting there and my dad like borrows someone's phone and calls us cause me and mom were at home. So we walked down to where the street and stood on the corner of those two streets for about twenty minutes. Then finally we could get close enough to dad to make sure he was all right. Then after a while kate got home and we heard that the guy had crashed our car like two minutes away from our house so we went to look at the car. Before we left the people across the street stopped us and asked us if dad was all right and that they were very sorry for their brother and told us all that background story. Then we went to look at the car and it was all smashed up and the air bags had deployed but the trunk was basically in the back seat and so it is probably totaled. We have now just gotten finished cleaning out the ho so that we can give it to that guy and get that other car.

Thus concludes my tale. Everyone is all right, and I hope not everyone else's summer has ended so theatrically. Be seein' ya.

"Mo duinne."
