So, to start at the beginning -
November, 2007 - sent my iRiver H340 MP3 player down to Melbourne for repair.
They sent me a quote to get it repaired, to the tune of $390.
After many e-mails to and from the repairers, I had to raise an Extended Warranty claim from IUG.
Organised it, IUG state they don't cover batteries as consumable items. This is fair enough.
This is where the delay starts: e-mail the repairers on a weekly basis, asking for an itemised quote, on just the replacement hard drive, and the labour involved.
No response to that, or the 6 consequent follow up e-mails.
Being a little bit fed up, I e-mailed the Warranty company to find out if there was anything they can do to follow up the case. I get CC'd on an e-mail to the employee's claims manager asking if there was anything they can do, and it was left there for the day.
Come to check my e-mail yesterday, there's an e-mail there from IUG, titled SETTLEMENT OF REPLACEMENT.
The Warranty company propose a replacement of an iPod Classic 80GB in BLACK! :D
I accept their offer, now the waiting game - I have to wait for the iPod to be delivered to my hot little hands (:
I've gone from initially having an iPod 20GB black / green (replaced by an iPod 20GB Colour :D), then to an iRiver H340, and now back to iPod Colour 80GB.
