One Giant Leap Back For Mankind...

Being in the oil industry, my company let us go at noon today. I drove to Matt's work taking notice of the beautiful day that we were having. Sunny, bright....clear skies and breezy...not the suffocating hot we have had these last few weeks. Every car I passed I knew the people inside were listening to the same thing I was listening to. Matt's company didn't let them go...but the Starbuck's coffee in the same lot was closed down due to "the tragedy that happend in New York". You can't get any coffee guys...but you sure as hell can rent some movies!
Once at home, I turned on the t.v. and watched the unbelievable scenes coming from my tv. My heart goes out to all of those people who have been hurt...all of the families who are missing loved ones. I keep thinking of airplanes plowing into the sides of the buildings. I can't help but wonder what the people in the WTC buildings were thinking. What was going through their minds? To be in a huge structure....one that was always thought safe...one that they had been going to for years and years....what went through their minds as they were tumbling to their deaths... What about the passengers in the plane? Such a tragedy...and so much disrespect for life. What a sad day. "Sad" cannot even begin to describe it...i'm sure.
Another thing that I keep thinking of is the scene of the young children - Looking to be anywhere from 7 - 14....lot's of adults too who were running around in the streets, clapping their hands...laughing and singing...waving THEIR flag high and proud - it looked like the fucking Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. How in the world can their be so much hate?
I hope that one of these days....THE WORLD will realize that we are all in this together....and none of us will make it unless we all JOIN together as one. There is strenghth in numbers.

Again...my heart goes out to everyone that is involved in this tragedy. My heart goes out to the other people...who like myself...are sitting at home...thousands of miles away, watching the tv and wondering....will we ever get through this??? What is next??? And will we be ready for it?
