A petite Asian girl makes her way into Rowan Hall, looking at a piece of paper in one hand. Long blue-black hair falls to the middle of her back, framing a face with wide chocolate-brown eyes and delicate features. She wears a cream-colored blouse and a claret-colored skirt under a red ski jacket. A red stone set in silver hangs on a chain around her neck. She is dragging a suitcase with wheels behind her, and a Hello Kitty messenger bag, fairly bursting at the seams, is slung over her shoulder. She also has a Pretear backpack on her back

The old Nocker Grump jumps slightly as she's startled, "Kine-ahora you almost gave me a heart attack."

Hellitrope looks over at Reichan as works on hanging up an autographed picture of Jewel Staite, aka Firefly's Kaylee on the wall over the bed. With a grin she introduces herself, "Hi, I'm Hellitrope, or Helli, and this is my Grandma Rose. I hope you don't mind that I took this side of the room. You weren't here and I was sort-of eager to settle in."

The eshu girl bows to both nockers, her eyes modestly downcast. "I am sorry," she says to the older woman. "I did not mean to scare you."

She gives Helli a shy smile. "I am Tomizawa Rei." A pause. "My friends call me 'Rei-chan.'"

She gestures to the unoccupied side of the room. "May I put my things here?"

Reaching over to grab her hammer to hang up a picture Helli replies, "Be my guest. It's your room as much as it is mine. So what are you studying?"

Rei sets her bags down carefully on the unoccupied side of the room. "My major is East Asian Studies," she replies. "I would like to concentrate on East Asian religions, if the university will...permit it?" Pause. "Is that the way you say it in English?"
