p.s. up-here council? RAN OUT OF GRIT. AND SALT. we are using GREAT BIG ROAD CHIPPINGS. on SOME roads. otherwise we are using nothing!

sadly not - it's been very icy but my half of the island is actually pretty snow-free! (west rather less so! schools all shut there.) neighbour & i did share our wish to be snowed in and thus get moar holiday though.

(amazed belfast functional at all even with only light snow. usually OMG WHITE STUFF SHUT EVERYTHING! is how it goes. that and little red calling to claim he couldn't drive to the office from the *lisburn road* because of the weather one time. i was already there and i'd taken the BUS so i wasn't very sympathetic!)
