I did spend the morning looking with some longing at Hunters but, I cannot bring myself to fork out 50 quid for a pair of wellies. They may well be Very NICE wellies, but they're still wellies ;p
( Read more... )
Apparently the Hunters are the top comfy and coolest, but they're for if you trek in them all day. Basic wellies are the gratest as well I reckon - esp with the wooly socks!
I have lived all my life wearing 2nd hand wellies (family, work, etc) one day soon I'll have my own, new pair!
Heh, my last pair of wellies are done, they cost a fiver over 10 years ago! So they did alright ;p
I am still quite aghast at myself for spendign TWENTY pounds on these ones... but they are quite posh and green and v. comfy - and will be even more so with my wooly welly-socks.
Sadly enough I am DEAD INTERESTED! I got to use the green kind, but I once got a go in my dads wellies - they were black with yellow soles. Is that a special kind?
They do sound quite special, I haven't seen those!
Check the huntersite, they do FIREWELLIES for firemen!! Also, if you fancy really splashing out, you can get HAND MADE wellies crafted by skilled welly craftsmen! *dreams*
Hehe yes! To look at actual Olden things. Tho mostly because the landowner where the things are is a bit mad and believes in leprechauns and tends to get in the way a bit, so I'm mainly going to distract him so R. can actually get the surveying of Things done. And hold the measuring tape and be Scale for photos and the like ;)
I got flowery welly type shoes last year! But they're mostly for pottering around in the gardening all ladylike. I've had my wellies for like... 15 years? And for some reason as a teenager I found it cool to draw on them with Tipp-ex! It's amazing how that stuff sticks I tellsya.
I got a very nice pair of blue hunters about ....... omg 14 years ago, and they are still going strong - havent been worn in about 4 years mind you. They were well worth the dosh at the time!
