About seven months ago I had a baby. My little man is so much more awesome than I could have imagined. I love staying home with him. Work is not giving me much incentive to go back either .
I used to manage a store.
When they hired the guy to replace me, they got a guy who would work for dirt cheap. The owner kept calling me to tell me how he didn't think the guy could handle the day to day operations. But, he seemed smart enough to me. The owner picked him out because he really liked how the guy would do extra work for no pay. But, he kept acting like the store would fall apart when I left, so I volunteered to keep doing the monthly ordering.
They keep forgetting to pay me. So, I get two months pay at a time sometimes. I'm still NOT PAID FOR MARCH.
In January the owner strategically cut all of my hours down to just the order itself. It's not really worth my time for under 80 bucks a month. He just wants me for the hard stuff. But, he wants to pay me as little as he can. When they remember to actually cut me a check.
This month I 'forgot', till my replacement called and reminded me. I told him 'why don't you just go a head and do the ordering'. He had the same amount of time to complete it that I usually get. But, the Owner acts like I gave him the shaft. He made replacement Dude do the order the day BEFORE it was due on Thursday. He said he was to busy to go over it with 'New Guy' on Thursday. Well, when were WE going to go over it? Wouldn't he have had to go over it with ME on Thursday.
I think 'New Guy' has never paid attention to the ordering before. I tried to show him a couple of months ago (on my own time). I told him to 'write stuff down', which he ignored.
Most importantly, maybe they should PAY ME . I know they aren't paying me a lot, so it slips their minds. So, Maybe it slipped my mind too.
The owner thinks we are a dime a dozen. But, I think he was ticked off because he had it easy with me.
You get what you pay for.
