ok, since i handed out the 15 Phantom Limb cds on Friday, people have been coming up and asking for a copy. Since burning a million cds is really boring, this is how it's gonna go. So just ask, and if you provide me yr adress I will send you a cd (with pretty pink cover) if you trade me either

1. a copy of yr zine, demo, video, patches, badges or any other creative endevours
2. naked photos (of you, yr partner or an unsuspecting friend)
3. a three (at least) paragraph review of the cd
4. a substantial letter detailing yr first impression of me
5. homemade goodies
6. a catch-up phonecall when i have a day off work
7. a mix cd full of songs you think i'll like

awesoma power!

But some idiot challenged me. but it got the rusty cogs turning...
i was having a really interesting conversation with a client on sunday about sexuality, gender identification and con/deconstructive societal norms that pertain to this issue when i mentioned that i USED to identify as a lesbian and she got SO MAD! (about the fact that i said lesbian, not that i was going through a phase, which i don't believe i was). I mean, let's use Madonna for example. she has had many different personas the toyboy, the geisha, the cowboy etc just as many people may have had previous sexual identities, and just because she does not subscribe to the identity that she may once have had, does not mean that those previous parts do not add up to make her what she is now. why can one's sexuality not exist in a state of total flux? a grey area? does it have to constantly defined and why do people get so angry when that find something that may NOT be totally definable? there are many terms but what if you didn't feel inclined to any of them? not that this is a huge issue for me, it just got me thinking about taking the personal liberty to change yourself at will and how other people may view that decision. see, for me, it's not about who i LOVE (blah blah blah love is nice and sweet and smells good but COME ON), it's who i will LUST after or who i will FUCK, that's how my sexuality lives, breathes and changes, through sex. now, while sex is (or should be) fun and interesting it is not the be all and end all like we are led to believe. henceforth we come back to the starting line where we just talk about it and point fingers when someone says something that may be construed as un-pc.

does anyone have any opinions on this? i'm really very interested to know what other people think.

xoxo
