Bunnies still won't go away. So more fics are still to come.
t_shirt1x2 asked for a first kiss or AU get together/first kiss. So at her prompting, this came out. Hope you like!
And for anyone else who wants to throw ideas my way, go right ahead and I'll see what the bunnies want to dish out other than a headache for me. *grins*

He was still looking at me with those eyes from across the room. Eyes that could look into my own without any hesitation or fear. Sometimes I wondered how he could be so daring and other times I wondered if he really was a fool.
I had been working as a designer for quite some time at this company, but on the first day I had arrived, he had taken notice of me. At first I thought he was a freelance artist, someone the company took a liking to when they were looking for something fresh and new. However, after I saw him at least ten times in the production rooms, I knew he was more than what I had first thought him to be.
Duo Maxwell was one of their top artists and stylists. He could tell anyone what would be new before even the president did and she always went with his suggestions because they sold the most.
Duo was headed on a fast track to the top of the company and his own unique style boasted his tastes more than words could.
He was one of a kind.
My own strengths were in the color and pattern choice, I could assemble outfits with all sorts of patterns with ease and this new project had both Duo and I working together.
The president wanted a new glam dress for her press conference, which was a shock in itself. The only problem being that it was scheduled in five days from when she announced it this morning. She placed her faith in Duo and I, knowing and believing that we could come up with the most sensual and alluring gown that reflected both Duo's tastes and my own.
If only I wasn't so distracted in the process.
Duo had been going through the different types of material that we could use for the dress and I was looking through the different colors that would match our president's skin tone as well as flaunt her slim build and figure. It was maybe half an hour that we were in this room together and I could feel Duo's eyes on me from across the distance between us. At first, I thought I was imaging it, but when I looked up through my bangs I could see Duo's eyes on me.
He would look up every so often at me and had been on the same page of the fabric description book for the entire time.
Of course, I couldn't really say anything in my defense either. I was still stuck on the same color tiles as I had been when we entered the room as well. Although, I could always say that I thought our president would look beautiful in the navy blue that I had been staring at for what seemed like forever. She really did look beautiful in the color and solids were sometimes the best to stick with for a conference gown.
"Duo." He jerked his head up and looked a bit embarrassed with his cheeks coloring to a soft pink. "I think we should stick with a navy blue for the color of President Une's gown. It always looked like her color and the dark blue will bring out her light skin tone."
He seemed to ponder this then came over to stand beside me. I could feel the warmth his body generated and couldn't stop the shivers that traveled up my spine. His smell was a heady mix of sandlewood and musk and as he turned his head to look at the color swatches that were laid out in front of me, I noticed the small silver earing that pierced his right earlobe. I didn't even realize he had a pierced ear.
"I think we should use silk."
"What?" I asked, still distracted by the fact that Duo had a pierced ear.
"Silk. You know? Material for the gown we're supposed to make together?" Duo asked turning his face to look at me.
"S-silk would probably be really nice. But are you sure that silk would be a good material? If she's going to stand on the stage for a while, won't she get hot?"
"Heero anyone who gives a speech on stage is going to warm up a little. Silk just feels right. It's so soft and smooth, it's a pretty cool material though."
"I wouldn't know. I don't remember ever wearing silk or what it actually feels like." I admitted sadly. Although, I knew silk was expensive and a lovely material to work with, I never had the hands on experience of dealing with it. I was more a color stylist on paper and dealt with the colors a computer rather than handling the various materials.
"Well, I don't have a piece of it on me right at the moment, but the closest things we have that feels like silk are human lips. You could feel mine if you want? They're pretty silky." I had to swallow the lump that had managed to stick in my throat. Duo wanted me to... feel his lips.
"A-and how would I feel them?" Did I really just say that?! Out loud?!
Duo smirked at my words and stepped a little closer to me. "Oh, I don't know. How about like this?" Before I knew it, his soft, warm lips were on mine, stealing my breath away and making my heart pound faster. I gently kissed him back, and felt his lips open slightly under mine. An offering to go a little deeper and taste a bit more of him that I knew would be as good as this soft kiss. I swiped my tongue lightly over his before finally breaking free and pulling up for air.
Duo's eyes were once again gazing into my own and I felt a warm rush spread across my own cheeks. A soft giggle escaped Duo's mouth and I couldn't help but grin. Duo smirked at me in return then got a look on his face that I had only seen when he was about to plan something major.
"If you really are interested Heero, we could continue this discussion about fabrics over dinner tonight?"
"What time?" I asked, feeling a bit more at ease as my heart slowed down slightly.
"How about right now?" He asked taking my hand in his own.
"It sounds just right to me." I replied lacing my fingers through his as we sat off to catch a bite to eat. Who knew I could feel like this from such a simple kiss and holding Duo's hand.
It was just perfect.
We got all our ideas out for both the outfit and another date or some pasta and bread sticks. The gown we designed together was such a smash hit that President Une wanted us to design more gowns and clothes lines together.
We were well matched in the industry and in our own personal lives.
And it was all due to our fashion sense and the feel of silk upon our skin.
