Happy 2/12 day.

It's beautiful and deadly cold outside, -5 degrees up on our home front. Of course with the cold brings the car repair bills as I'm sure some of you know. In the beginning of December, right before christmas in fact, I had to get a new muffler and an oil change. Not that big of a deal but my very quiet Subaru sounded like I smuggled a bear in the back section of my outback. A very disconcerting experience when you work at an inn and have to come in quietly without waking the guests, that shipped sailed when my car growled loudly making the last turn in and I woke everyone up. I got it repaired a few days afterward and almost $300 later my car was quiet again. YAY! \o/

However, with the cold air and my tires losing pressure and air more than likely something else had to give. So now, I have a leak from the exhaust in the front part of my car right behind my front tires. Le sigh! And of course today has been the only day I have off in over three months and I get to take my car to the garage, wait for it to be done, and luckily in some ways visit my grams while I wait. I say luckily since she lives only a block away from the place I'm taking my car to and I won't have to walk very far to get to her house. Yet, I know exactly what she will say to me. She who has never driven a day in her life will say, 'what do I need a car for anyway they are nothing but trouble.' However I must point out that I or my mom or her other granddaughter that lives with her have always taken her where she needs to go and she thinks nothing of the upkeep and repair costs other than knowing that we gripe about it. I can see the conversation right now in fact but it serves to amuse me with the generation gap and all. this should prove entertaining and distressing all the same.
