"Florida: God's waiting room"

hey all! so i was reading the notre dame lj community posts . . . some very interesting people go to our school (that's good interesting btw) i also met an lj buddy in person the other day at the huddle. that was exciting . . . that hardly ever happens! did i mention how excited i was?

so it's been all of 2 days since i've been back in sunny fl and it feels so good! here's what i've been up to (lj cutted for your convenience :))

i dont want to go back to the bug-infested (mock ladybugs everywhere!!! no exaggeration! and they bite!), cold (it was around 40 when i left though i heard it warmed up . . . which just means more bugs) evil that is southbend . . . nor do i want to resume studying. i seriously don't think my brain wants to learn anymore. oddly enough, all of a week ago i was considering switching majors (to biochem) and getting a minor (peace studies) and another job (because i'm quitting the dining hall). but that whole biochem switching thing fell through once i realized i would have to take math again and this time go up to calc 3 *shudders* and i still haven't even looked into peace studies. the other job (which would have been at circle of mercy) still might come through though, which is exciting :)

and i'm up to 11 people now for tutoring!! if one more person signs up, then it's like i'll be teaching a seminar course. how cool am i!

and my studies aren't going so well. i'll be getting a whole heck of a lot of b's this semester due to my lack of motivation to study. on the bright side, i'm loving orgo! i got an 80 on the last orgo exam . . . and that was without studying :) i'm pretty proud about that

i got down with love today. mmmm, ewan mcgregor . . . i think his mere presence in the movie makes up for any lack of substance there, which is to say, quite a lot . . . but as a romantic comedy, it's cute :) mmm . . . ewan mcgregor . . . and i saw kill bill yesterday! i liked it. lucy liu rocks. and i liked the soundtrack too, which i now own. best buy also bombarded me with free things on my way to checking out. i also now have some 2hr promotional dvd for them, 2 free cds, and a lion king mouse pad/calendar.

i got my teeth checked too . . . my teeth are doing well. had dr stewart been there today, i could have progressed to harder, more painful things. but alas, he was not and he didn't plan for my teeth to have moved so much and have made so much progress, so i get to eat normally (more or less) for another two months.

my skin is also doing better. anyone who doesn't know what i'm talking about here should ask . . . actually no, it's not too long of an explanation. i have massive eczema on my neck and face . . . i blame it on southbend. i think i'm allergic to it. wouldn't that be sad if i were forced to take a sabbatical year because of health issues . . .

so our football team is kinda sucking it up this year. we're only 2 and some other number much larger than 2. go ND. oh well, i still love them. there's an ND vs FSU game coming up soon. anyone who watches it should look for #5 on our team. that's rhema. he's my friend :) he's so nice! and i just love bragging about knowing him for some reason. i'm his gummi bear peddler :P

now about baseball . . . so the red sox lost to the yankees by a measly homerun during the (12/13th?) inning of the 7th game of the series. who made the home run? none other than aaron boone. i didn't know whether to be sad that the yankees won or happy for boone. his entire family is just so cute!!! and the cubbies lost to us, the fish, which is sad. if any of you heard of that cubs fan (the one that interfered with the foul ball making it not a foul during the (bottom of the?) 9th inning while bases were loaded and cubs were only leading by one while the yankees were at bat with 2 outs) that guy was a notre dame graduate. woo yeah! way to represent! and he apparently lived in keenan . . . a hall i am all too familiar with . . .

oh and yesterday poor boone made two errors, one of which caused the marlins to get a run (which is good, being that i dislike the yankees and have now jumped on the marlin bandwagon) but very sad for aaron boone (who is, after all, my boy! and he wasn't a yankee until this year just so you know, which is why he's allowed to be my boy). but he ended with a great double play (and he had another double play during the game . . . so i guess they cancel each other out). he's #19 . . . look for him! they have game 3 tomorrow. go marlins! go aaron boone . . . ahhh, the conflict!

so i've moved on from crushing on grant . . . that was easily remedied . . . he's a jerk, and mean, and not so nice . . . there's a reason i think this . . . ask me, i'll be happy to divulge

but i think the crush ricocheted off grant and onto john chin again. he's yummy. hmmm . . . . hald-asian, half-caucasiany goodness. and he cares about diversity (because he's in my diversity practicum)!!! either that or he's just like me and kinda iffy about the whole thing. and he's so sarcastic it's great! :) he's so funny. and he smells so good. like man . . . but better! like heavenly man! he's dreamy . . . . and he used to be a physics major, and he was good at it! but he's now some sort of arts and letters major. and he has a nice roommate. he's cute too. i knocked on their door and he said come-in and opened the door for us . . . he was half-naked, and then all embarrased and was like, "oh, i'm sorry, i was changing . . . " he was not bad. only thing is, they all live in carrol, which is ridiculously far from where i live. but it's all good . . . i need to lose the weight i gained anyway. oh oh! and john chin (who is hot) won the domer run, which is a marathon of sorts. so he's exceptionally athletic too! and in crew club. okay, i believe i'm done here for now

apathy over academics makes the quality of life SO much better :)
