I keep on meaning to update, but then by the time I think to, it's like 2 in the morning (I know, I'm weird, but I need my sleep thank you very much). BTW Lisa, please don't think that I am intentionally neglectig to respond on the whole unconciousness/conciousness thing. I typed up a big old thing that I was planning on adding more to, then accidentally closed the window, so it died. I will retype + add to it eventually, and it will (hopefully) be all thought out and more coherent then my first attempt at a responce.

Last weekend was super exciting. On thursday I went to a Phi (Sigma) Rho informal rush thing at the coffee house across the street. It's the engineering sorority. All the girls were super amazingly nice, and it was nice to talk w/ Stephanie again (she rowed this fall, and then got hurt so she can't row or cox anymore, which sucks). I even managed to dodge like the one question that they could have asked that I have absolutely no answer to, which is what is my favorite type of shoes, since I am one of the three girls alive who has only a basic interest in shoes (hell, like 95% of mine are black, cause I'm that boring). Fortunatly I managed to blather on about boot shopping in Italy, so they didn't notice my lack of knowledge. And because not only are they super nice, but smart too, they taught me physics. I was so hyper that night cause I was all excited from rush stuff. Not only are the people in the sorority really nice, but most if not all of the current pledges from formal, and the other people doing informal, are all super nice/awesome too (two other rowers are doing it) (Grace, Sarah Brandeau is also doing informal!! As soon as I said my name and we talked about Duke and almost going there, she was like, do you know Grace? It was exciting, though it kinda scared one of my other friends who was kinda like where the hell did that come from).

Friday was not overly exciting, tho still really happy. I had a math test (obviously not one of the happy bits), which I did well on. It's so refreshing to take a math class that has comprehensible questions again. I didn't do fantasically, since I managed to turn one tenth into one fifth (I read english good), but it was still infinitly better than last quarter. Then Matt and I baked a cheesecake (by which I mean I made it and he kept me company, cause he is just that awesome)which is tasty, though I don't think I cooked it long enough, because my springform pan is only like 8.5 inches instead of nine. And I used chocolate chips instead of cinnoman chips, which means that the texture for the chipified layer is totally wrong, but it's still quite tasty, even if it's not right.

Saturday started as not so cool, cause we had morning practice as punishment for some people not sending in their workout reports (we weren't going to have practice because of the ergatta on sunday, and she even sent out an email saying no practice, and then changed her mind like 4 hours later). It was extra annoying because Matt and I were going to go to the Rock Hall, but didn't really have time due to the stupid practice. Oh well. I veggitated for a lot of the rest of the day, and then helped with the Hammer setup (the afore mentioned Sunday ergatta which we were hosting). After that, since it was their last game of the season, and Matt is a hockey fanatic, we went to go see the Case team play. Hockey is a really cool sport, though I also think that it's just an excuse for guys to try and beat each other up (kinda like football, rugby, wrestling and boxing). I now finally know all the rules (I know, I'm a bad Canadian), and the game was really exciting. It ended up being 8-6 for Case, but most of the points were all scored in the last like 8 minutes of the last period. It was really cool, cause one team would score a couple goals, then the other one would, and it wasn't decided until Case scored their last goal with like 45 second left. It kinda makes me sad that there aren't any more games, though they are now in the playoffs, so maybe there will actually be a few more.

Sunday started with the Hammer, which was the normal ergatta tons of fun. Both Matt and Saria came, which was very happy. I PRed again, by 3.5 seconds this time, so now I'm only 5 seconds away from breaking 8. If I managed to do that this spring, it would make me so happy. And I think I might be able to on the model C's, since I can row much more consistetly on them. Saria seemed a bit disturbed though, because she's never seen people erg before, let alone watch her roommate do a 2k and then fall off the erg and lie on the ground for a while. I then taught her how to erg, which was interesting. She says she might actually consider joining crew next fall. I then somehow got stuck doing a relay peice, which hurt a lot. So I got to spend more quality time with the floor. It was kinda sad, I managed to stand up to yell for the last like 100m of the anchor guy, and then tried to walk and fell on the ground again.

After the Hammer (whose tophy we managed to keep, despite missing our best novice rower to mono and varsity to a funeral (not her's, fortunatly) (it's between us and John Carroll, a local school, based on overall better average 2k splits), I went to a Phi Rho open house thing (a little late, it was from 2-4, and we showed up right at 4). Stephanie showed us around, and we got to play with her bearded dragons (aka mini kumono dragons), which are cute, and don't care is you pat them/hold them/whatever. And they ate crickets, and managed to make it really cute. Apparently they kinda wander thoughout the house (they have a cage and everything, but Stephanie lets them out if they want). The house is really nice, this huge mansion at the top of the hill (the facts that it's at the top, and not the bottom, is the only remotely bad thing about the house). It only fits 14 people, so I probably won't be able to live there next year, but if I can I will. If not, I guess some of us who don't fit could get a suite together. I really don't know who I'm going to live with, but as long as I'm on south side w/ all the other sophomores, and nice people, it should be all good. Anyways, the two other crew girls rushing, one of their friends, the Phi Rho girls, and I all dipped cookies in chocolate and sprinkled them, as a service project for women in shelters for abused women for Valentine's Day. While we were doing that, we were joking around and overanalyzing heat tranfer in melting the chocolate (or not, which was the problem), and they kept on saying stuff like we were already given bids, which was really excting. And I made up a word: sprinktatsic. Or maybe it was sprinktacular. But I think it was sprinktatsic. It was super fun. Then I came home, and helped Ruthe build a fort in her room under her bed.

Today there was another Phi Rho event. It was called Phi Rho fishing, and they made lots of big paper fish. Poeple then picked up the fish, and there would be a random question on it, and then some sort of directions about who would go next (Mine was Cookies or Brownies? And then someone wearing letters went next). We then did this thing where everyone has a peice of paper, and the write a What if.. question. Everyone then trades around the papers, and wrote on the back the answer to their own question. Mine ended up being What if you need directions, and you were in a country where you didn't speak the language? I don't own a cat. My favorite (other than mine, which I burst out laughing while reading my answer, cause it made no sense, and I think they thought I was a little weird due to my laughing fit) was What if your head exploded? I would freeze it and sell it to neighborhood children. The last game thing we played was a mix of charades, Taboo, and Password. Everyone writes a coupld words on sheets of paper, and they go in a hat. There are two teams, and three rounds. The first round a person can give their team any clue they want w/out saying the word. The two teams switch back and forth in minute long turns, till all the words are done. The second round, using the same words, you act them out. The third round you can only say one word, and you team has to guess. I went last for my team. Apparently the years of playing Password with my sister and grandparents paid off, cause most people got through between 7 and 10 words (the number in the minute across the rounds is actually the same for each type of round, cause you get to know the words), and I got through 13 (yes, I am a little proud of myself). Of course, when they made me go, I said I was bad at this sort of thing, so I got jokingly mocked for a bit for saying that. BUt it was still really really happy. The next thing is a Tao Bo and cheesacake thing on wednesday, which I am totally looking forward to.

In other news, Happy Valentine's Day everyone (since that's what it is now I guess)!! Oh I should go to bed soon. And I will be putting up pics from like thanksgiving onwards at some point, since my memory card is almost full. Speaking of facebook, guess who friended me today Lisa. Carla Medina! It's so weird, I haven't talked to her since like middle school or possibly even elementry school.

Totally random, but we will soon be getting an X box. Tis might totally kill my already wounded productivity, and make me start playing video games (it's weird, I've like totally stopped, though I'm sure I will get obsessive again once the next Elder Scrolls game comes out, so exciting!!). Okay, it's official, I should not write posts when I'm pasted a certain amount of tired.
