Fighting one's daughter wasn't the usual way to go about bonding with your child, but Pallas liked to shake things up. That and he wasn't really adept at expressing how he cared for his kids outside of fighting with (or for) them. Teasing worked too. It was easier to express himself that way rather than speak of his emotions anyway.
That probably explained why he had offered Nike the chance to spar with him in order to get out her aggression. He knew she would win, seeing as how she was Victory, but he wasn't too worried about her hurting him. He knew how to take a hit. So he just got out padding she could wear; he wouldn't forgive himself if he injured her seriously.
All he had to do was wait for her to get to his place and get the gear to fit her.
