Pallas was annoyed. While he wasn't completely against change, he didn't like when it took him away from his family. There were very few people whom he cared about and being separated from them? It wasn't on his to do list. He pushed back into his apartment and threw his stuff on the couch, barely pausing before he went into the bedroom.

"Styx," he said quietly as he walked over to her and sat on the bed behind her.

She turned to look at him as he sat on the bed. A small soft smile formed on her lips as he said her name and she turned to face him. "Pallas," she sighed and reached out to touch his face, almost as if to test if he was truly there and not just a figment of her imagination. Or just another cruel joke.

"I have missed you, my dearest."

Pallas turned and kissed her fingers gently. He was really bad at expressing himself so maybe the physical would convey what he wanted. "And I you. I still don't know why we separated." Maybe that wasn't the best thing to say.

He reached out and drew her into his arms, pressing a kiss to her forehead as he did so. "I didn't like it."

He had never needed to be very verbal with her; she knew who he was and how difficult it sometimes was for him to express himself so she had learned to value his deeds even more than his words. As he pulled her into his arms she nuzzled against his neck, inhaling his unique scent. "It's strange. In your memories we have lived a lifetime apart, you loving someone else, but to me nothing has changed."

She hated to admit it but the selfish side of her wanted him to be happy with her and no one else, so knowing he'd been happy with the Muse had pained her. "No matter how short the separation was for me, I did not like it either."

He shifted so that his back was against the headboard, holding her to his chest and tucking her head under his chin. "I wouldn't say I loved her. She was...I cared for her but there are few I love." She had better know she was one of them. Pallas wouldn't have given up his place in Cronus's court for anyone but her. Or his children, given how he wouldn't fight them when Zeus used them in his war.

"Living all those years with you being with someone else, even if it didn't happen in reality? I don't want to repeat that." She was his.

Losing herself here in this moment while resting in his arms was easy and if she'd ever had any doubts of him or their relationship, they were all lost as she felt his heart beat against her back. "Whatever it was, I do not care. It's over now and we can be together again. That's all that matters," she whispered. "Was it strange? To see me with someone else, even though you had her in your life?" Styx hated to hear the jealousy in her voice but there was no way to hide it. She was jealous, of course.

"And you'll never have to. We will be together no matter what." And it was true; no matter what the Titanesses might throw their way, they'd always find some way around it.

"It was strange." He raised his fingers under her chin and tilted his head to look at her. "I didn't enjoy it. I think that's why I went to the muse." He pressed a kiss to the corner of her mouth, savoring the feeling of having her back in his arms. The jealousy she felt though? A small part of him enjoyed it. Just as he was possessive, he enjoyed her being possessive.

"Good." He pressed a kiss to her temple.

She smiled at him, gladly losing herself in his eyes again. "Was I happy? Do you know? I cannot see how I could have been without you in my life." It was a mystery to her, what really had happened that drove them apart, but a part of her didn't want to know. She was scared that if she knew somehow she'd end up making it happen and that was something she couldn't risk.

"I love you. Now and forever." Her voice was soft but clear and she smiled before placing a tender kiss on his cheek.

He brushed her hair back from her face before he answered her. "I don't know. I want to say you weren't, but. Well." He had wanted to say that obviously she hadn't been unhappy with her new lover because she was his and that meant something. But he couldn't ever really lie to Styx, it wasn't in him to do it.

"I love you too." He caught her lips in another kiss, this one more heartfelt than the last.

"Then I must have not been." Honestly, how could she have been even slightly happy without him next to her? Pallas had always been the love of her life and would always be, no matter what happened. The Titanesses could play their games all they wanted, but they could never take away the love she felt for him.

She pulled him even closer as he kissed her, not willing to have any distance between them ever again. Eventually they'd have to leave the bed, but that was later. Right now she would hold him hostage if that's what it took.

"I don't think either of us truly were." He scooted down a bit (he's elegant, damnit) and curled up around her as best as he could without letting her go. "Doesn't matter now though. We're past it."

The most disturbing thing about this whole experience? Was being toyed with and unable to do anything about it. Sure, he was still incredibly strong, but he couldn't fight off anything Khaos or Gaia did to him.

The bed felt more comfortable now that he was there with her, curled up around her. Styx allowed herself to relax against him enjoying the warmth of his body against hers. "No, it does not matter," she agreed. "Perhaps we should stop talking about it." What good could come from them dwelling on it? What was done was done and it was in the past now. Eventually they'd learn to forget all about it, or at least pretend it never happened.

She reached out to tangle her fingers in his hair, enjoying the feeling of completely losing herself in his arms.

"Not talking about it works for me," he answered, his voice soft. He leaned forward and kissed her again. "Let's just ignore that it happened." Forgetting it would be easier than trying to deal with what it had done to the two of them.
