... blinged-out popes?

BAH. Weekend was crazy and I have all this homework that I completely ignored because I was too busy going to Samhain ritual/Rhoads Halloween/Lantern Night/just dipshitting around and not doing work. Stupid me >O. Not to mention going to Shampoo on Thursday, which was loads of very tired sweaty fun. Despite the fact that I didn't get to bed until 3:30, and I had a 9AM class the next morning. Lovely, no?

Friday I went to said class and then sat in my dorm and did a tiny bit of work, and a LOT of reading. I read Demon In My View (Amelia~) Into the Cold Fire, and Shattered Mirror (Amelia again!).... all in like 12 hours. (Followed by me reading Tithe yesterday instead of working. Pshhh. I had to read it as background for 'what not to copy' for my nano. Which starts in... fourteen hours! omgwtfbbq I am so not ready for it in fourteen hours.)

Saturday Jill and I spent several hours in the Barnes and Noble cafe doing work -- well, I played a lot of computer games and read some and did approximately thiiiiiis much work (I pinch my fingers together in a small manner and hope that you can see them ;D) and then went to Athena's Circle. Ritual was awesome fun, even the part where we forgot to invoke the Goddess until the middle. Whooo~oops. And dinner. Was. Amazing. Falloverdead such good food amazing. Then went to Halloween parties, which were fun but not the incredible amazing wonderfulness that we've come to expect. Suckage.

Sunday was another day of sitting around trying to work but not really doing it, followed by a short jaunt to Wynnewood so I could FINALLY get a comforter. Which I got, and 'tis comforting and comfy. :3 Then Lantern Night! Which was squee. My lantern is sitting on the fireplace in my room and I have a lantern and it's pretty and yay~. (We also observed that we attend a cult, not a college. For those of you not familiar with Lantern Night, the Freshmen class lines up outside Thomas, all in black robes, and we file into the dark cloisters in silence, where the Juniors sing Pallas Athena ad nauseum and the Sophmores run around in similar black robes and put lanterns behind us. We have to pick up the lanterns without looking at them, and then we all sing Sophias the song that will not die the song that we cannot get right the song that is not transcribed well onto our song sheets AT ALL ... Sophias is just Sophias, okay? Did I mention all the songs are in Greek? Yeah. See the cult aspect? And then we sat around at Stepsing and listened to the McBrides win the Stepsing by about a hundred miles -- they brought a keyboard. And Annassed until we went crazy, and I got to listen to Bread and Roses again and that is teh best song evar. EVARRR I tell you.

Now. For the homework -- a paper on Dorian Gray and why he's a whiny bitch but we love him anyway the role of influence on the self, a short story, and a wellness paper of bullshit. Plus CSEM reading, Short Fiction reading, Java reading, and brain hurting.

Also note: For people who have read both Dorian Gray and Half-Blood Prince... why is Dorian's portrait so totally a Horcrux?

Second note: This Icon Rules My Heart Because It Is The L Word and Also Says Alice On It and YAY.

And Happy New Year, loves~.
