I should hate Friday Night Lights.
SPOILER NOTE: I HAVE ONLY SEEN SEASON ONE OF THE SHOW SO DON'T YOU DARE SPOIL ME OR I WILL RIP YOUR THROAT OUT AND THEN FEED IT TO YOUR PARENTS/SIBLINGS/FRIENDS/SPOUSES/FUCK-BUDDIES. KAY?

So. FNL. And me. And hatred. They should co-exist. They do not.
Why? Because pretty much every other TV show on the air right now would sacrifice a million virgins and a billion goats to be half as compelling as Friday Night Lights, or to have characters as grossly complex as Friday Night Lights.
I hate small towns. I hate football culture (though not necessarily the game itself). I LOATHE small town football culture. But I cannot overlook excellent television. This show is a complete paradox; it should not exist. But I am so so glad it does.
