I have my "nieces" (Amira and Holly) until mid July. Ages 12 and 10 respectively. Yes, I am thrilled to pieces because I missed them like crazy. But, if anyone thinks 2 pre-teen girls are *easy* to take care of, boy can I prove them wrong. Especially when one of the requires a lot of care. (Amira, as some of you know, is a leukemia survivor, and is on a ton of meds and needs insulin shots for diabetes.)
My saving grace is this is, this week, Amira is at a special summer camp for kids with cancer and Holly has a special camp that she is going to the week of July 4.
The past few days have been crazy, getting the spare room set up and the house cleaned and still getting remodeling work done and stuff.
Nicki, Amira and Holly's Mom, stayed with us the first couple nights, too. She and I had Girl's Night Out last night. For us, that is playing poker at a local bar, having a few drinks and flirting with the dealers. (Romey and Mike are my personal faves. Both are very cuddle-able. ;)) Made a few good plays last night (Mike was impressed with my pre-flop all-in on pocket kings) and ended up on the final table. Then made a couple of bad calls and lost it all. Such is life. :D
More later maybe. Taking Holly to see Charlotte's Web now. Special summer movie thingy at the theater.
Hope you're all well. :)
