I hit a speed bump...

Alas, it appears my departure date of September 21st, heading with the Peace Corps to Central America, may be delayed. Apparently, they want a current psychological evaluation done by those who've seen me before... nearly two years ago. The people that have seen me before are the counselors at the university. Now, there's a couple of problems with this.

First off, the counselors are on summer break. They don't show up, except maybe once a month.

Secondly, since I haven't been an enrolled student for over two semesters, I cannot even schedule an appointment with the counselors.

So... there's that very strong possibility that I might not get my review in time to leave.

But, I'm not losing hope, and even if it is delayed, I'll just have to find a job, somehow... Anyway, I've been leaving messages on one of the counselors' machines, one that saw me in the past. Rumor has it, she'll be in on Friday as an "on-call" doctor. I may be able to wrangle out a phone session, and have her write an evaluation right there.

Barring that, I may also try a crisis clinic. It might be fudging it a bit, but... it's worth something.

Well, anyway, any religious types out there reading this, pray for me. Any non-religious types? Send good vibes my way. I'll return the favor.
