Since no one else has really mentioned it (not on my friends list anyway)...
Am I the only one that thought "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" movie missed its mark? I love the book and always figured it would be near impossible to translate its humor to film, and after watching the movie, I still feel this way. I think they did the best they could, but they left out so much of the little things (the little nuances in the book that help to make it hysterically funny.) Which is understandable, considering there's no way to include every little tangent from the book.
I have yet to watch the BBC version, but considering my love for cheap n cheesy BBC shows (weekends for me when I was 13 meant Teletunes, Red Dwarf and Dr. Who..though Teletunes was local, it was still quite cheap n cheesy)I'll probably like it a bit better than this slick version
But nothing beats the book...ever.(Now I hear they're making a movie of C.S. Lewis' Narnia books...the only thing good to come of these book to movie deals is that it motivates me to reread all the books I love so..yay!)
Enough of this book talk though, I gotta go buy some flowers and crap (literally) for our feeble attempts at creating our own Secret Garden in our tiny backyard.
(That was a book that was successfully made into a musical IMHO..and that movie version a few years back wasnt too bad...)
Which reminds me too...Anne of Green Gables TOTALLY worked as a series. Damn I want that whole collection (the series I mean, Ive already got the books)
Okay, its off to turn my thumb green...or at least a slight olive hue?
