My ass is marvelously evocative

This entry was going to be called "Christmas Party", but I mistyped it. Maybe I won't be linking my parents to this journal any time soon ( Read more... )

Juggling kippers would be a definite step up.

We went to the station and down to the usual platform, number 2, taking the lift due to having a pram. There were no trains on the usual platform. I realised I should have checked the monitors at the top level to see what train to take. So I went up the escalator to have a look. On the "Franskton Line" monitors it said "catch the next train to Richmond and change". So, instead of looking at the other monitors to see what trains go to Richmond, I went back down the stairs to quickly look at Platform 1. I should already have known platform 1 trains go in the other direction, and that platform 4 trains go to Richmond. Rather than thinking about it, I told Janey to wait on Platform One while I ran down the escalator again to platform 4. The next train was due in 2 minutes. I went back up by the lift (only now realising that this was quicker since no one else was using it), took Janey and the pram back down, got there too late and had to wait twenty minutes for the next one.

Then!

When we got to Richmond we went over to the platform that Frankston trains leave from. A Pakenham train came but that doesn't go to Frankston. So that train left, and a Frankston train was due in ten minutes. About then I realised that I'd specifically told Janey to park at Clayton station that day! Clayton station is not on the Frankston line. It is on the Pakenham line. We had to wait another half an hour for the next one.

Tonight we're going to my parents for Christmas dinner, and I've told Janey to meet me there. I am telling myself every few minutes to remember to take the Glen Waverley line today. I will probably end up in Werribee. :(

Remember to take the Glen Waverly line today, so you don't end up in Werribee.
