"Save Me, Because I Could Never Float..."
Because everyone's doing it, also Supernatural comes on soon and I'm wasting time, and because eleganza-bella is awesome.
Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
(I know you guys probably won't be able to answer like any of these, but it's good to put them down.)
.01 I wish my mom would get better. I wish she would be so sick and have to take what she has to, and I wish her life wasn't going to end sooner than it should.
.02 I wish Ricky wouldn't be depressed. I wish he wouldn't put on his fake smile likes it's all okay, because it isn't. I wish he would realize that he can talk to me, that I'll listen, not go away just because he doesn't see me, and won't judge him. I wish he'd realize that I love him, no matter which way, and would trust me. I just want him to be happy.
.03 I wish I could see my sister more often, well both of them, but I really miss seeing Nickie everyday. She's my everything, except my mom, when it comes to my family and I feel like I've lost a little bit with her being in LA.
.04 I hope that my other sister and her fiancé have a good and happy marriage, because they're wonderful together and they should be together. They're divine.
.05 I wish for a serious fan base of slashers in Twilight, there is a few hardcore slashers and then there's the group (Sort of the rest of the fandom...) who will read it but won't write or discuss it. Fandom is for being crazy, it doesn't have to make sense it just has to have the characters there.
.06 I wish to be published one day, or at least finish a novel. I really want that novel to be The Dark Man, because I really do have a story there I feel like I've been waiting to tell since...forever. So yeah, being published would be nice.
.07 I wish that the stupid corporations would give the writer's what they want, because they're stupid and the writer's deserve whatever they're asking for. Writer Supporting Writers.
.08 I wish for a Jasper/Edward, or Harry/Severus (Both would be lovely.) fanfictions that are longer than drabbles. Unrequited is lovely, we all know that's where I live.
.09 I wish to get to know Andy better, and that he'd like me and maybe we could go out. :D
.10 I wish that I didn't have to wait until we get money again to get a paid account. Although it's not that different from a normal one....I miss all my icons. ;_;
