ive had the same thought. friends seem to be temporary forms of entertainment, and ultimately just something to stab you in the back, or annoy the shit out of you, etc, etc.
the reason to have them? i cant give you a real answer, just my opinion, which is without friends, you cant grow or learn. they teach you skills, tricks, and can take you through experiences you normally wouldnt. in other words, without friends, no one would have a life, and we wouldnt be able to support ourselves, a job, or a family.
thats what i think about it, i could go on, but itd get really boring. i dont know if that helped, but maybe it can jumpstart an epiphany for you. good luck in finding an answer, and im here for ya
