Yesterday in Sociology we were talking about how people either consciencely or sub-consciencely will evaluate thier partners to see if a furitre with them is possible. Love brings too people together, but very rarely do people marry or get seriosue with people outside thier own class or community. A doctor would not marry a high school drop out. Someone from the ghetto would not be dating someone with a country club membership. Everyone in our class seemed to agree. This one girl said she loves her boyfriend, but always questions thier future becaseu she is a middle class white girl and he's a lower class hispanic. It's just like that movie the notebook. This rich girl falls in love with this poor mill worker. and the end, she has to chose between marrying a rich man or the poor guy she loved as a teengaer. In the movie, she goes for the poor guy. But how unacurate is that? Love hardly ever lasts forever. And who would want to give up thier mansion to live on a farm? No one wants to give up thier way of life for another, no matter how wonderful they might be.
