It's true, our society seems to lack the memetic predisposition for friendship. I wonder if it's entirely memetic, though. It seems the memes in question are certainly there, but perhaps we have a genetic distinction, as well? I have long held that the human being is not separated from the other animals by virtue of its intelligence but by virtue of its aggression. Perhaps there are genetic distinctions among various ethnicities, as well? I'm casting a glance at nations in which the power-centre is typically Caucasian male and wondering about the pattern of invasion/expansion...

I have to admit, I have taken as long a road as I can find in most endeavors, and it has afforded me both good and ill. The better view had best be of things that don't compel you to hide your eyes.
