i caught the evening show on x'mas with M at vivo. i guessed many would have watched it by now.
there are some similarities which we observed. the storyline coincides with The Last Samurai and The Matrix.
in The Last Samurai, Tom Cruise's character went to help the Japs against his home country.
in The Matrix, the characters have to be attached to some machine in order to reach another dimension.
another similarity is the troops blasting down the tree, fighting the Navis in order to reach the sacred stone. this is happening on our very own planet. you do not have to go to Pandora to witness the destruction. replace the war machines with bulldozers, Navis with the wildlife and the sacred stone with whatever natural resources you can think of: coal, iron ore etc.
what made me laugh was Grace wanting to take samples despite she was badly injured. i guess it was intended to give a light moment to a sombre scene.

and yes, please use Earth's natural resources wisely.
