Imagine if you are thrown away back to the past..

 "We think it's only normal.

We have resolved that the Earth
will go on spinning.

That at any time, it will be possible for us
to express the things we feel.

That these ordinary but contented days
will just go on and on.

We've forgotten the darkness of the night.

But, what if there was a day

when we suddenly lost all that?

The bird-like freedom we have.

Our satisfied lives.

If somehow this bright, night sky
was lost to us?

If we were thrown into nothing but

a pitch black night, alone...

I wonder if you...

...would be able to find a light there?

I wonder if you would be able to grasp
the light that was there?

Or instead, would you want to bring a light

to that world without light?

By your own hand."

This is actually my favourite quote from my favourite
Japanese drama of 2009; Jin.
Don’t be fooled by it’s looks. It may look like a period drama.
It’s actually not. It’s ( I swear ) more than that!
And it’s great! A series that would open your eyes
without forgetting the entertainment factor as well.

Watching Jin, reminds me of the 1st Japanese
series I watched ages ago. Back when 8TV started the
whole Japanese serial slot. It was sort of like
a period drama. Except I can remember there’s a lot
of drama, backstabbing, mystery and all that thing
you watch a drama for. Unfortunately, I dunno what’s
the title as my memories are getting fuzzy with my age. =)

Anyway, this show really fit my kind of taste in a story.
It has drama. Yes.
Mystery. Yes.
Action. Yes.
Dramatic moments that makes you gasp. Yes.Very.A Lot.
Tear-jearkers. Yes
Makes me feel smart when I watch it. Yes.
Humor.Yes
A likeable all-around casts. Yes.
Make me wanna search Google to find out more. HECK Yeah!

It also helps if you know the history of Japan
a lil bit as it will help you understand the story better.
As I’m an avid fan of Gintama, I luckily know who
Sakamoto Ryoma which helps if you know who he is
in the first episode as the character is big part of the
story. This point forward. Wikipedia will be your
best friend. ^.^

Another strong point of this drama is the music.
I’m willing to bet on my (non-existant) Mini-Cooper
there will be moments when
you will have goosebumps. There will be time when
you want to cry along with Minakata-sensei, helpless
in solving problems. Thanks to the background music,
you wanna cry as well. When the music is fantastic,
that’s an almost sure-tell the show’s great as well.

ramble your way
