Good news. J I just got invited to go with some friends to see the great folk singer Donovan next week in New Brunswick, NJ. Last year I saw him with friends in a tiny café in Noho in NYC. I was literally sitting at a table ten feet away from him. He started the concert alone with an acoustic guitar and no other accompaniment. My friends and I, having heard his songs for decades, knew all of the lyrics of his songs. When he sang the song “Colours”, he asked for the audience to join in. My friends and I did a pretty good job at the “that’s the time” harmony and he looked over to our table with a smile. The entire show was awesome. He told some great spoken word stories as well about those psycholdelic sixties. IMO, Blues and Folk artists are the best at ever renewing their love for their music. Sometimes it takes a little time for them to get it cranking (e.g. BB King) but once they do, watch out!
