Happy Easter

A couple of days ago I got a robo-call from Joe Crowley announcing a political rally. Harry Reid will be speaking at the university Tuesday afternoon (early evening). I probably could just show up if I can find any parking. I think it's spring break so maybe parking can be found. The call actually gave a phone number or a web page to RSVP. I went to the web page (Reid's) and looked all over for a place to RSVP. There's nothing there, but I did find some stuff on the health care (not) bill. Of course the bill isn't kicking in for another few years but I do need to wonder about something. My primary care physician is at the VA. What happens after the new bill kicks in? The explanation on Reid's page is unclear. As can be expected from any politician, he talks out of both sides of his mouth. Part of the explanation says that VA coverage continues as is, but part of it seems to say that I'll have to purchase coverage from the pirates. Is it any wonder I'm in favor of single payer? Let's do it right. Single payer, and sink the pirates.

The fifteen month running battle between Obama Democrats and tea party Republicans was never much more real than televised professional wrestling. Like the opposing wrestlers, both sides work for the same bosses, for Big Pharma, Big Insurance, and the biggest medical providers. The real health care fight waged by the Obama administration has not been against Republicans, who never had the votes to stop, let alone dictate or pass anything.

What was the source of the newfound courage of the Democrats? Quite simply, their masters on Wall Street and in the most powerful corporate boardrooms made it clear that they wanted the legislation passed.

Washington and the American media know perfectly well what they have in the Afghan president--a venal, wealthy, ruthless politician; the current difficulties result from the US puppet attempting to establish a certain independence from his American overlords.
