April Fools--random thoughts

I wonder what weird stuff will happen today. I wonder what weird stuff will happen this month. By the end of this week, perhaps, or the end of this month, anyway, we should know whose predictions pan out. As they are getting quite repetitive, no point in revisiting them. Just wait and see.

A little ice skating yesterday. Richard keeps trying. There doesn't seem to be that much interest in it within the two clubs he addresses. One gal showed up so there were three of us. This included the lunch stop at Nikki's Chaat Cafe in South Lake Tahoe. Ski season is mostly over, and of course summer hasn't started, so Tahoe was relatively not crowded. It will be bedlam in a month or two.

Had dinner with an alumni relations representative from college on Monday. Well, my old school bought me dinner. Cool enough. I don't have the fondest of memories from that time. I think I found college to be something of a return to Spencerland, something I escaped, to a degree, in high school. Maybe I just wasn't ready for that.

Last Sunday I watched probably the stupidest most pointless movie ever, Scent of a Woman. What a mess: a little bit of If ... mixed with a little bit of The Last Detail mixed with the original Profumo di Donna, but without any sense or purpose except to give Pacino's character a playground. The only playground that psychopath belongs in is one with some very high walls around it.
