About a week ago, I went nuts with the gardening clippers as I am wont to do because gardening clippers are fun. I clipped all of the vines growing down our rock wall as well as a few other obnoxious weeds but I had to leave them where I was because I hadn't quite set up my composting yet.
Anyway, today I was finally able to bring home the bin that I am going to throw my organics in and went to go deal with the pile of debris.
I created a habitat.
Isopods, some spiders and a pair of snails were streaming EVERYWHERE in a mad panic to get out of the daylight. It was like Exodus except instead of being all "Yay, no more slavery!" They were all, "Aaaaa! sunlight! It burns!" I haven't seen anything like that outside of a horror movie. It was kinda nifty.
I'm thinking of drawing up a coat of arms or other device for the signage for our home. Obviously the heraldic animals of the Underground Fortress are the isopod and the spider.
