What are words?

What are words... ".a unit of language, consisting of one or more spoken sounds or their written representation, that functions as a principal carrier of meaning. Words are composed of one or more morphemes and are either the smallest units susceptible of independent use or consist of two or three such units combined under certain linking conditions, as with the loss of primary accent that distinguishes black'bird' from black' bird'. Words are usually separated by spaces in writing, and are distinguished phonologically, as by accent, in many languages."

I don't think that is where it ends. As a representation of Human thought, words become reality. Like the concept of the pen that is mightier than the sword. Sharing thought to like minded people, and or commanding subordinates, can make an idea Real. We see it in the propaganda or media of today. The facts of "reality" are forgotten or ignored, and the "reality" of the words take over the popular belief of those who chose not to think for them selves. Blindly accepting others thoughts into our own. Ideas are like programs. And many of us can't read the very language we think in. And in these words after I realize I am not the first to think of this…and far from the last, I hope…

"Out of damp and gloomy days, out of solitude, out of loveless words directed at us, conclusions grow up in us like fungus: one morning they are there, we know not how, and they gaze upon us, morose and gray. Woe to the thinker who is not the gardener but only the soil of the plants that grow in him. "
Friedrich Nietzsche
