Hello Suzy Homemaker

I spent my Sunday canning the vegetables from my garden. I canned 21 quarts of whole tomatoes, 12 quarts of zucchini and yellow squash, 8 pints of cucumber relish, 12 quarts of applesauce and two quarts of tomato juice. I'm so awesome it sickens me. I just got done harvesting again today and now I have a ful kettle of tomatoes that needs processing again plus a few more zucchini. The cucumbers are done finally, and I made pickles and relish. The bread and butter pickles I made are delish and the dills are pretty good, I would have liked them to be a bit crisper but you get what you get. I also picked all the elderberries and mom made a pie. I was going to make jam but pie was good too. I'm thinking about picking all the blackberries growing wild and making either jam or wine depending on how much work I feel like doing. This weekend after the fair I have to pick the apples from my last tree and make something out of them too... probably more applesauce. My apples aren't good to eat just by themselves because I don't spray them. I don't know what I'm going to do next year when I don't have a garden to work in.

I finished Cory's afghan and made booties to match. They're just precious. I'm almost done with the afghan and sweater I'm making for Mike and Gwen's spawn. I'll be done before the baby is born... which will be nice. Then I've got to come up with something for Dawn's baby too. All my friends got married and spawned at the same time... must be something in the water. I would have been alot easier to finish my gifts if they would have spread themselves out a bit. Nobody else I know is allowed to spawn before December! I forbid it!

Work has been aggravating me as of late. Not work exactly, just Bob. Sometimes I could just kill that man. I am so tired of hearing how he misses Ron, who was let go because he didn't graduate high school. Apparently to Bob, a man without a high school diploma is better than a woman with a Chemistry degree. Fuck that shit. I am a damn good chemist, all I need is someone to teach me the rest of the heavy equipment we use!
