jesus v. rabbits
hey... did anyone ever wonder why the ressurection of christ is celebrated with rabbits and eggs?... stay tuned and find out
well... when christianity spread to northern europe it naturally clashed with the existing traditions and religions of the people there...
as it turned out the celebration of the ressurection took place in the spring... and most non-christian (specificaly germanic) people celebrated a spring festival of fertility...
it was a tradition for people to dress as rabbits during the celebration as a blessing of fertility in the next year...
women would also tap eggs... if the woman's egg didn't break she would be fertile in the next year...
so when christianity rolled in... it all started to get mixed together as one celebration... that's howcome eggs and rabbits are symbols of christ's ressuraction
