Bling From Mycenae
After heaping you with dozens and dozens of seals from the Mycenaean and Minoan worlds, I thought this Saturday to give your eyes a rest with some bling from the Mycenae Shaft Graves.
So much of the Shaft Grave gold is funerary decoration (i.e. not meant to be worn in life) that it's refreshing to see some pieces that might actually have graced a Mycenaean lady of 1500 B.C. In fact, these earrings have such a chic, modern sensibility about them one could wear them today and get compliments.
