Minoan and Mycenaean Seals

A Twitter follower turned me on to this wonderful corpus of Minoan and Mycenaean seals, where one can view the amazing range of seal stones from this period.  Many animals, geometric patterns, and what look like hieroglyphs.

Here are some examples of Mycenaean seals, found at Mycenae itself.  Apparently, the Mycenaeans recruited (or enslaved) the best Cretan artists to produce these works of art.  Personally, I find the Mycenaean seals more beautiful and elaborately detailed than the Minoan ones.

The images are enlarged several times actual size.
