Getty Villa Images

Yesterday I drove down to Pacific Palisades to see the renovated Getty Villa.  I took many photographs, some of which did not come out, but managed to score shots of the Getty's small Aegean Bronze Age collection.

This tiny vase isn't more than three inches tall; I show it here at slightly under life size.

This Minoan seal is shown around life size.  The Getty has a few Minoan gemstone seals, but this is the image which came out the best.

A Cycladic stone head.  The people of the Cycladic Islands produced these enigmatic stone faces and figures.  This particular piece is quite small, about three inches high, and very dainty.

Not a Bronze Age piece, but a fragment of The Odyssey on Egyptian papyrus from around the 1st century AD.
