I'm really glad I wrote the 'soppy stuff' in the Latin teacher's card now. Just had a phone message from her, mostly to check that I had given in all my books as she is a couple short (I have), but she also said (transcribed because I am sad like that *grin*): "I really appreciate the words you wrote in the card. These weren't too bad. I got on okay with the prose literature and I think I answered everything and got most of the points in that I needed to. The daily life paper was.... erm.... it was okay I think - I really don't do well in that area because my brain just doesn't retain the information the way it does with the language, but the topics were ( Read more... )

Tim took L2 to Fusion, and then went on to Milldale to drop off a VERY excited L1 for camp. I thought she was going to burst. :-D

L3 and I waved them off and then L3 decided to pretend she was at Cub camp. I shamelessly capitalised on that with all my might; told her it was Cub camp bedtime and that her bedroom was the tent and it was time to go ( Read more... )

Hard work paid off. Virgil exam was do-able.

In fact, it was more than do-able, it was enjoyable. Because I have spent the last week reading, eating, sleeping living Dido and Aeneas, I recognised both passages immediately and before I started answering the questions I went through them both and translated them in my head, just to reassure myself ( Read more... )
