After the initial horrendousness of this morning, the walk to school was really pleasant and chattery; we were looking at the moon high up in the sky and talking about the face we could half see on it. L3 now goes in on her own as soon as the doors come open at school time, so I can get away more quickly than the first few days when I was accompanying her into the classroom and supervising the hanging of the coat etc.
Cycled home, tidied up a bit and then cycled off again to E's house to meet with her and J for our weekly get together. We had a really good talk again, lots of food for thought about prayer, time management, and the pressure we all put on ourselves to be perfect, amongst other things. :-) I have come away, just as I did last week, feeling renewed, encouraged, and very blessed!
In the afternoon I went out with Tim to do the Buy Sell round again, and this week we managed to just complete the whole round in the time available, which was brilliant! Tim went out again after school to do the shorter round, and that meant that by teatime he'd cleared all the papers, which usually take him all weekend in various different stages! Very pleasing.
Children all tired and cross again after school and it was All Very Hard Work before tea. Made and ate fajitas and then Tim took them all out to Fusion and I had my usual Friday evening treat of doing the washing up, and then some knitting, in peace while listening and laughing to Radio 4 Comedy at 6.30! I managed to finish my first lacy red sock during this time, and I'm actually really pleased with it. It's taken so long though that I am going to do a blanket square or two before knitting the second one, just for a change of pace and scenery!
I went and collected them from Fusion, and they are now all in bed and are hopefully exhausted enough to sleep right through till tomorrow morning and wake up happy! Tim and I are in front of our respective computers and chatting about whatever comes into our heads. He is off early tomorrow morning for the weekend with a friend, and the rest of us have a busy weekend here, with another high school visit tomorrow morning (and this is the school L1 has as her first choice at the moment, so it's important to take as much in as possible), a visit from
rosie_rah and then Messy Church on Sunday afternoon, at which I am helping to make giraffes-in-pots out of, if I remember rightly, clothes pegs, soil and grass seeds! Should be lots of fun. :-)
Right now I am feeling calm, contented and sleepy. And wondering if I can be bothered to get in the bath before bed.
