Live your life with arms wide open
We are home! We have talked and walked and camped and slept and eaten and walked and talked some more.
It was amazing to be able to walk at our own pace, instead of that of the children. We were able to choose when to stop and eat, and when to go on again. Life is so incredibly simple when there are only two of us to think about!
I love camping so much and hope we get to go again this summer and take the children too.
It has been very very good indeed to remember that we still like each other and want to spend time together, rather than just two people who happen to share children and live in the same house. Much communication has happened. And an awful lot of walking - my legs are now protesting wildly whenever I go up or down the stairs!
We've eaten tea back at home, and next it will be time to go and extract three children from the clutches of Grandma and Grandpa! We know perfectly well they won't want to leave, and there will be tears. We need to brace ourselves for that! I'm really looking forward to seeing them.
