Success!
I've been playing around with a tiny snippet of music for a couple weeks now, trying to find something to go with it. It didn't help that I couldn't figure out if it sounded like the beginning, middle, or end of a piece, either. I was about to give up just before I flew out to Murray, but I really didn't want to because it's very pretty. Well, I finally started putting together a left-hand part to go with it yesterday, and then sudden inspiration struck.
I'd had another small piece I'd been toying with a long while ago, almost from when I first started. It's actually a great deal more playful than this one, but with the left-hand parts, it fits quite well. So I tacked it on to the end of the first piece, added a little doublet-type thing, and voila! I now have a complete piece!
At least I think so. Now that I have both parts together, it's definitely the end, but the beginning part sounds more like the beginning of the end, not the beginning of the whole! So now I have to find something else to add to it, or another variation of what I've already got. Have mercy, please? It was hard enough getting this far! *wails*
For now, though, I think I'm just going try and find a way to record what I've got so far and throw it up here...somehow....
